2022 - Do You Know the Pancake Man?

Since I'm writing this recap in 2025, to be honest, I really don't remember much of what happened this season. All I remember is the important part - title number tres. On the backs of Christian McCaffery and Saquon Barkley, I finally evened the score with my arch-nemesis, Kaelan. It was quite a dominant season - at only one point did I lose two games in a row, and only before a four-game win streak that led all the way to the pretend trophy.

The best part wasn't even another title - it was revenge. It was one year prior that too-big-for-his-britches Connor Gibson decided to come in on week two of his inaugural season and take down the big man by four hundredths of a point. Although early, the loss led to my absence from the 2021 playoffs. But one year later, I was given a chance at redemption. Connor decided to go for two titles in a row, which has never been accomplished in the Breakfast League. I decided that just couldn't be allowed, and I took the final game.

To be sure, Connor's season was remarkable. After a lackluster 4-5 start, Connor rode a seven-game winning streak all the way to the Championship. Sadly, Mahomes/Jefferson/Kelce were no match for... Gardner Minshew, Gabe Davis and Cole Kmet????

In what would be Jared Kmiecik's final year in the Breakfast League, he would start hot with three wins in a row. Unfortunately, he would only gather two more wins for the rest of the season, going 2-12 in that span.

In the year where Kaelan's archrival equaled the score against him, he could not fight it. Winning only 5 games that year (and, for what I believe was the first time, being SWEPT by yours truly), Kaelan finished dead last for the first time. Hey, everyone's there at some point. Meanwhile, Dan Jackson Jr. suffered a three-game losing streak to begin the season 1-3. He was not pleased - so, he won seven straight and went 10-1 over his next eleven games, only falling short to - well, again, yours truly - to finish third in the playoffs.

And RJ continued to run into the buzzsaw known as... the playoffs. After beginning the season 10-1, Dogchow would only achieve one more win before losing both playoff games out of the bye week. But he did achieve one GOAT feat - his team name was definitely the best (Wilson's Cougar Hunters).

Al Ohlinger once again served as Commissioner, while Kenneth served again as Lieutenant Commissioner. Other minor changes passed, such as raising dues to $25 and changing to FAAB waiver wires (while Commissioner Ohlinger had the ability to institute this change unilaterally considering the Kaelan Amendment, he still put it up for a vote. All Hail the Generous Overlord Ohlinger!).
