Ahhhhhhh, fall is in the air - the leaves are turning, the farms are harvesting their crops, pads are colliding, fantasy owners are making bad waiver wire moves... it's our favorite time of the year.
Rather than writing a novel this time, I'm just going to get straight to the rankings! I'll note their new positions relative to last week's post-draft ranking by Al. But I will tell you, this is by far the hardest Power Ranking I've ever approached... the teams are soooooo even it's not even funny, even after one week of games. So I'm going to embrace the fact that I don't know and just have some fun.
12. Team Suspension (Kaelan Carlson)
0-1 (0-1) / 3rd, Bacon Division / ESPN Proj: 6th / PR: -5
So of course, the first step in a fun PR for me is putting Kaelan last. But I do have some real objections with his team, other than I FINALLY BEAT HIM FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE THE BIRTH OF MY FIRST NEPHEW!!!!!! - such as his running back issue. Who knows how the RB2 situation will shake out in Baltimore behind Lamar Jackson. I will say that picking up Jameis Winston may prove to be an elite waiver move.
Again, Kaelan could win by 80 next week and I may rank him first. I just have no clue what to do with this league right now...
#11 - Premarital Fournettecation (Dan Jackson Jr.)
0-1 (0-1) / 3rd, Waffle Division / ESPN Proj: 7th / PR: -1
Like I said, the separation between #11 and #1 is very slight, and I think Davante Adams and Kyle Pitts will get better as the year goes on. But Josh Jacobs' 'Out' status hurts him. Drafting a rookie TE that early is risky, as NFL TE's usually take a few years to develop into NFL size. There is a severe shortage of running backs as well.
10. Koo Koo Ka Choo (Connor Gibson)
0-1 (0-1) / 4th, Bacon Division / ESPN Proj: 2nd / PR: -8
Okay, okay, maybe I went too far. But let's look at all the downsides here: Najee Harris is working behind a newly-assembled o-line in Pittsburgh (and didn't exactly look spectacular in his premiere, albeit serviceable). This roster may rely too heavily on sleeper picks (I made that mistake last year). I would love to meet Al and ESPN on the middle on this team - maybe next week!
9. CoronaVirus Crowns (Ethan Maas)
0-1 (0-1) / 3rd, Sausage Division / ESPN Proj: 4th / PR: -3
The depth could be better. The depth could be worse. The top players are ballers, the bottom players are just kinda meh. It's a middle of the pack team, but those teams can make the playoffs and get to the final round as Dan the Man proved to us last year as the #6 seed.
8. FloridaState SeminalVesicles (Alex Annan)
1-0 (1-0) / 2nd, Bacon Division / ESPN Proj: 10th / PR: -3
Alex right now: "I WON MY GAME!!! WHY ARE YOU DOWNGRADING ME?!?!?"
I get it dude. I just don't like your roster as well as Al does (I'm going to regret this ranking if I lose to you next week). The QB and K positions specifically give some concern.
7. Cassius Darsh (Daren Lincourt)
1-0 (1-0) / 2nd, Waffle Division / ESPN Proj: 5th / PR: +2
"Ooooooohhh he took a QB and TE before RB2" - okay look, if there's one thing my pages upon pages of pre-draft research has taught me, it's that no combination of picking positions at certain rounds in relation to certain other positions leads to an automatic success formula. Trust me, I've tried to find it, and I can't. You have to play to your own strengths, and for Daren, it's getting a TE early. In this case, it's one of the leading TE's from last year. It got him a win so far!
6. That's Football (Al Ohlinger)
0-1 (0-1) / 4th, Waffle Division / ESPN Proj: 8th / PR: -3
Don't freak out folks, Aaron Rodgers just spent a full offseason and part of preseason trying to spin the media story away from losing his second straight NFC title game in a blowout. Of course it's going to take him a little while to get his feet under him and get back to throwing a Rodgers Rate!
A couple of these picks don't look as good now, such as Trey Sermon and Jakobi Meyers. But this team still has a great starting lineup. Despite the score last week, this team will be back.
5. Waddlin Tua MAHOMIES (Aaron Green)
0-1 (0-1) / 4th, Sausage Division / ESPN Proj: 11th / PR: +7
How many times do we rank Aaron last? And how many times does the man with Mahomes get scores of 170+? I mean he didn't do it this week, but when you have Mahomes, Barkley, Evans, Kittle, and the sneaky Carlos Davis grab, high scores WILL happen. That's why my rank of this team is so different.
4. Crazy Train (Sean Alumbaugh)
1-0 (1-0) / 1st, Sausage Division / ESPN Proj: 3rd / PR: +7
I'm actually more okay with CeeDee Lamb than Al is - I like this team a little more. Deebo Samuel and Justin Fields will be great sleeper picks - I didn't like Deebo because of his ADot last year, but he defied that notion in week one.
3. Can You Diggs It? (Kenneth Pancake)
1-0 (1-0) / 1st, Bacon Division / ESPN Proj: 12th / PR: +1
I feel completely justified placing myself here. First of all, it's only one position over where Al put me. Second, ESPN is dumb. Third, I'm the best, plain and simple - I wake up in the morning and I piss excellence. Plus my backup RB situation is, well, amazing. I'm stacked like a hot steaming plate of... well... your favorite breakfast food.
2. Morning Chubb (RJ Dechow)
1-0 (1-0) / 1st, Waffle Division / ESPN Proj: 9th / PR: -1
I like this lineup, and they obviously went nuts last week. I'd feel pretty safe saying this team makes the playoffs. Stafford? Chubb? Cooper? Hockenson? This team is going to put up huge numbers this season. But, I'm not satisfied with the depth.
#1 - Conner Party (Jared Kmiecik)
1-0 (1-0) / 2nd, Sausage Division / ESPN Proj: 1 / PR: +7
Did I go overboard? Maybe. But ESPN had him first, and this might be his only opportunity, okay?!?!?
Did you know that ESPN gives Jared a 74% chance of making the playoffs? I like what I see in Dak Prescott as a weekly crazy-high score ceiling. Don't forget Godwin and Waller.

This might not be my greatest ranking, but I'm short on time, and this League is going to be the closest it's ever been this year. I look forward to seeing the situation sort itself out!
