Post-Week Power Rankings (Week 2)

Writer's picture: Al OhlingerAl Ohlinger

Welcome to the Week 2 PR. When I evaluate the teams this week, it’s 50% results and 50% projection based on roster. Next week it would be 75% results, and by week 4 I throw out my projections. With that in mind, here’s the PR.

12. Waddlin Tua Mahomies (0-2), 200.9 PF, 280.54 PA

Last Week’s Result: Loss vs Connor Party 100.82-124.98

Sorry Aaron, but this is clearly the worst roster in the league so far. I don’t believe in basically any of the RB’s or WR’s. That combined with the 0-2 start and only 200.9 PF means that I’m keeping this team in the bottom spot for now.

11. Premarital Fournettication (0-2) 204.06 PF, 250.56 PA

Last Week’s Result: Loss vs That’s Football 116.26 - 127.5

This team is too reliant on the Bills for me to like it too much. And even when the Bills scored 35 last week, two of the touchdowns were vultured by Zack Moss, missing Dan’s Allen and Singletary, in addition to Cole Beasley not having any TD’s. Add in an 0-2 start and low PF leads me to placing this team here.

10. CoronaVirus Crowns (0-2) 222.46 PF, 252.52 PA

Last Week’s Result: Loss vs Crazy Train 103.3 - 114.8

Christian McCaffery is hurt again. I thought this was a middle of the pack lineup with him in it. Without the Crowns’ star player? Ouch. To add insult to injury, Ethan couldn’t even garner a win with him in the lineup. Luckily, McCaffery is not slated to be out the rest of the season, but how many weeks he’ll miss is yet to be determined. All 0-2 teams will have to make some major moves to try to get back in it.

9. Koo Koo Ka Choo (1-1) 193.46 PF, 223.7 PA

Last Week’s Result: Win vs Can You Diggs It? 111.36 - 111.32

Yes, you read that right - that’s the smallest margin of victory in Breakfast League history, a margin of a measly .04 points. But a dub is a dub, and with the lowest PF in the league so far, our newest league member will gratefully take the win. I may have misfired a bit with my preseason prediction with this lineup. The main culprits in not delivering have been Jonathon Taylor and Robert Woods. If they can pick it up I still like the lineup, the results just aren’t there yet - so 9th place it is.

8. FloridaState SeminalVesicles (1-1) 212.56 PF, 201.32 PA

Last Week’s Result: Loss vs Team Suspension 100.18 - 119.22

You really hate to see a great performance wasted, and despite Aaron Jones’ 38.5 points, Alex’s team only put up 100. That really says a lot about the rest of the lineup as well. Both Hill and Allen Robinson put up duds, leading to the loss, and 1-1 record despite the league’s second easiest PA. So FSSCV is 8th in the PR this week, but there’s not too much to worry about yet. There’s still plenty of time to make moves.

7. Team Suspension (1-1) 224.54 PF, 221.24 PA

Last Week’s result: Win vs FloridaState SeminalVesicles 119.22 - 100.18

Preseason prediction: middle of the pack. Record: 1-1. PF: 6th overall. Yep, this is a fairly average team so far, so 7th place seems apt. Kaelan has made a myriad of moves over the first couple of weeks. It’s tough to predict the full impact but so far they look to be positive for Team Suspension. Tyrell Williams may be the RB waiver wire find of the year, and especially for this team that direly needed an RB2. I’m curious to see how the new additions will affect the team in the following weeks to come.

6. That’s Football (1-1) 208.22 PF, 266.9 PA

Last Week’s Result: Win vs Premarital Fournettication 127.5 - 116.26

This placement above the other 1-1 teams below me is a lot about believing the Aaron Rodgers Week 1 score was a fluke resulting in the low PF, in addition to the second highest PA in the league. I still believe in my lineup, they just have to prove it going forward. With all 4 of my RB1/RB2/WR1/WR2 scoring 15+, that’s a recipe for future success.

5. Can You Diggs It? (1-1) 232.38 PF, 216.68 PA

Last Week’s Result: Loss vs Koo Koo Ka Choo 111.32 - 111.36

On 4th down and 1 with under a minute left in their own territory up 1 point, the Raven chose to go for it (against the Chiefs of all teams!). A bold move that few NFL coaches would make. But John Harbaugh did, and Lamar Jackson rushed for 2 yards, gaining a first down (and .2 points for Kenny’s opponent). He then kneeled down to end the game, losing 1 yard (and .1 point). And when the dust settled, Team Diggs had the closest league loss in history by only .04 points. That’s just hilariously bad luck. This team is looking good so far despite the loss.

4. Morning Chubb (1-1) 244.66 PF, 244.06 PA

Last Week’s Result: Loss vs Cassius Darsh 94.02 - 163.34

RJ had a great week 1, but week 2 was a bit of a clunker. A lot of the difference was in Amari Cooper, as Dallas had a completely different kind of game from week 1. I predicted Team Chubb to win the league and I can still see that happening for sure. This bump in the road will bump them down in the standings for now though.

3. Connor Party (2-0) 262.7 PF, 219.98 PA

Last Week’s Result: Win vs Waddlin Tua MAHOMIES 100.82 - 124.98

Is this Jared’s first ever 2-0 start? It’s the first I can remember for a while. At this point it just comes down to roster preference for the three 2-0 teams. Despite studs in Henry and Godwin, I don’t like the depth quite as well on this team as the other two. But let’s get out of the negatives. It’s great to see longtime member Jared and Connor Party off to a great start this year.

2. Crazy Train (2-0) 270.36 PF, 203.38 PA

Last Week’s Result: Win vs CoronaVirus Crowns 114.8 - 103.3

It was really close between the two teams at the top, but since Sean had a better week 1 and not as great a PF this week, I’ll slot Crazy Train in 2nd. Speaking of Crazy, I really whiffed on this team 2 weeks ago, huh? I’m not sure what I was thinking, but I definitely should have put them higher in my preseason predictions. The RB’s still look a bit week with the eye test but if they can continue to at least be consistent and have a good floor, I see Crazy Train staying in the higher half of the standings for a while to come.

1. Cassius Darsh (2-0) 286.4 PF, 181. 82 PA

Last Week’s Result: Win vs Morning Chubb 163.34 - 94.02

Well that was a beatdown and a half. Daren’s 163 points were nearly 40 more than the closest contender last week, led by none other than the GOAT himself, as well as Tyler Lockett. If Josh Jacobs is out for an extended time Kenyan Drake can be a valuable asset. And Cassius Darsh has the best WR core in league with Hopkins, Allen, and Lockett. It’s a good time to be Daren - he’s earned the number 1 spot so far.

Next Week’s Preview:

Game of the Week:

#2 Crazy Train vs #3 Conner Party

Can Jared continue his great start or will Sean’s Crazy Train derail it and get the win himself? At least one of these teams will start 3-0.

#6 That’s Football vs #1 Cassius Darsh

Daren had a great week last week but was middle of the pack week 1. The same was true for me, but less good both times. Can Darsh move to 3-0?

#4 Morning Chubb vs #11 Premarital Fournettecation

RJ looks to bounce back vs a winless Dan. You really don’t want to start 0-3, but can Dan avoid that fate. A lot rides on the Bills.

#5 Can You Diggs It? vs #8 FloridaState SeminalVesicles

Two teams that are 1-1 are looking to have the 2 be in the wins column. What was looking like a tossup is now looking strong for team Diggs after Thursday night.

#7 Team Suspension vs #9 Koo Koo Ka Choo

Connor got his first league win in dramatic fashion against the two time champ. He looks to repeat the success against the 3 time champ this week.

#12 Waddlin Tua Mamohies vs #10 CoronaVirus Crowns

The good news? One of these teams will get the first win. Of course the bad news. One of them will start 0-3. You don’t want that.
