Week 12 Power Rankings
Totally forgot I was doing these this week – I was still hungover last week from Thanksgiving food and watching my favorite teams lose in humiliating fashions (Lions and Huskers). I’m a fan of cursed teams.
12. From The Logo! (3-9) Last Week: 12 He’s not dead yet! Ok, he’s pretty dead. But a 3-1 record against the division leads Al to proposing an all-divisional roulette for next year.
11. Koo Koo Ka Choo (4-8) Last Week: 11 Such a fall from grace this year and it culminated in a blowout loss to Kaelan who doesn’t take prisoners. Hindsight is 20/20 but leaving Smith on your bench (just like me with Metcalf) hurts your chances for an easy win this week against Kenny.
10. Old Yellers (5-7) Last Week: 10 Daren’s back is up against the wall – one more loss and his playoff chances are gone. He needs to avoid a loss against Marie to keep his hopes alive. 8 losses effectively ices him out of the playoffs. Good thing his kicker went off for 15!
9. San Diego State Fightin Araizas (6-6) Last Week: 8 Losing to Marie is the beginning of the end for Dan’s zombie playoff chances. I don’t see him winning another game this year and now Taylor is out for 3-5 weeks! Oh wait, he’s been on his bench the entire season? Nevermind.
8. It’s a Love Story Kelce Just Say (5-7) Last Week: 7 What has happened to this team? Kenny just pulled off a Nebraska by having the playoffs in the bag then losing their last games of the season when all they needed was one or two more wins to achieve a playoff spot. Now? The love story is officially over and Kenny’s busy during hell and finals week with his law school studies. Just watch Suits and Law and Order and you’ll be fine Kenny.
7. Love and Flowers (5-7) Last Week: 9 3 straight wins has kept my brief playoff hopes alive but damn it! I should’ve put in Metcalf. I’ll need Al to confirm this but if Kenny loses either this week or next week, Daren loses this week, Dan loses the next two weeks, and I win the next two weeks, I’ll make it into the playoffs along with Alex, Kaelan, Marie, Ethan, and the winner of Sean/Aaron. I still have a chance baby!
6. Crazy Train (6-6) Last Week: 6 A loss keeps Sean in the same position for this week’s rankings. At this point, a win this week would help but the ultimate prize is next week against Aaron. Whoever wins that game should make it into the playoffs. Good thing his team is pretty much healthy and not on a bye that week, same with Aaron’s team. That’s going to be the game of the week.
5. Dobbsy is a free Elf (6-6) Last Week: 5 Psst Aaron – hey can you just, lose this week? Winning this week doesn’t help you at all. Just rest your team in preparation for Sean next week. Thanks. Also, can you tell Al to count Metcalf’s points towards my score? Appreciate it. In all honesty, Aaron is in a good position with his team but similar to Sean at #6, it all comes down to next week for him. Win that, and he is in for sure. And the playoff streak finally ends!
4. Iowa City Mo (7-5) Last Week: 4 Sanity ruled at the top of the rankings last week as all of the top 4 teams won to further separate themselves from the rest of the pack. Marie’s chances at a #1 seed are pretty much moot at this point but already preparing for a playoff run is a good idea (smart pickup with the Eagles D/ST. I need to make it into the playoffs so that’s why I dropped them. You’re already in and their Week 16/17 matchups, my god).
3. Left Handed Corn Dogz (8-4) Last Week: 3 Alex is in titanic matchup this week against Kaelan that should determine who wins the division and a bye and who doesn’t. Alex’s Dallas D/ST normally is a points bonanza but man did they get smoked by the Seahawks on TNF. Still plenty of time to turn it around but at least he’s comfortably in the playoffs.
2. Team Suspension (8-4) Last Week: 2 Having Jacobs on bye this week really hurts his projected points but the high upside is still there. And as we learned from last week, this team has arguably the highest upside of any team in the league on his best day. And playoff Kaelan is no joke – just look at that trophy case.
1. Saqoun Deez Nuts (9-3) Last Week: 1 One more win and that bye is all his! Ethan has managed to take an autodraft team into the playoffs for the first time ever in this league (I think). If we had a coach of the year award, it would go to him! Now… psst, can you lose next week? Just rest all of your guys – thanks! Now go enjoy watching another week of good football and go Lions! Beat the Saints!
