Week 4 Power Rankings 2024
Article by Daren Lincourt
With week 4 in the close, records seem all too familiar. With a couple outliers trending upwards or down most have settled into a nice 2-2 split. This part of the season is always hard to tell who will break out or not so each spot could easily be replaced with another (take the placements lightly).
12. Cousins had a Kittle Lamb How does a team with this sort of starpower sit at 0-4. Blows my mind, luck just isn't there. While I have Aaron at last (due to record) having Hill/Smith at receiver and Kamara back has to be a recipe for success. Along with Kirk throwing to the vikings own JJ the team should rack up wins just fine. If I ever had to pick a 0-4 team to make a run, this is the group for sure.
11. San Diego State Fightin Araizas A 3-1 team this low is astonishing but the lack of moves and dropping of injured players makes little room for depth and a shot at a continued run. While Aaron had no luck these first few weeks Dan has had a lot with easier low scoring outcomes. With Kupp returning soon and Adams carrying this team weekly, the team might have the best receiver pair in the league. There's a lot of promise within the roster with returning players but without management the team is left to chance each week.
10.Koo Koo Ka Choo Coming off a huge performance credit is certainly due. Chicago's offense finally got rolling and Diggs had himself a day leading the team with 6 catches for 120 yards and 3 scores. While Diggs should remain a top option, Chicago will not and without a reliable starting QB it’s an uphill battle. Burrow has been a massive disappointment so far this season alongside Stevenson on a lowly NE offense. If these players can turn around and play like last year I see repeats of last week's score, though without that I don't see it happening again anytime soon.
9. Love and Flowers Even on a good week it’s hard to beat CMC at his best. Even at 1-3 this team is as good as any of the 2-2 options on the list. Jordan Love has looked great so far this season and Bijan will continue to get touches in the Falcons all running offense. Mixon and Higgins are the wildcards that I believe will make or break the season. Much like Connor, RJ needs the Bengals to get good and in a hurry.
8. Old Yellers (Jamaal Jams) I’ve had a hard time placing a name this year. I’ve cursed my first two options into injuries so I’ve decided to finally settle on what's gonna carry me this year. The King and Jones two aging RB’s (28 and 29) passed the glory days, well with 22 carries for 122 yards maybe not. My depth has been shaky down the line but I like my starting lineup and with a stud in Lamar and Brown I see this team having a lot better scoring performances from now on.
7. From The Logo! I liked the dolphins better last week, Tua seems to be very situational based on the quality of the defense though it might be too early for that speculation. With a lackluster scoring week from skill positions last week and rough byes this week it's an uphill battle going against Alex. With Tua against the Giants though, if trends continue it'll be a good week. With Swift as a solid option as RB (and my preferred Swift and Kelce combo) and Wilson still doing well without Rodgers the team should do just fine.
6. Crazy Train That Seahawks defense last week was legit. Every drive was just bullying ol Danny Dimes, 11 sacks on the night jeez. If I lost to a defense throwing up 30 points can I even be mad. But even with excellent D the score wasn’t enough. Olave and Waddle underperformed in what could have been a high scoring win. Still, with a solid starting lineup and Pacheco having a breakout game last week, this team should be Purdy good going forward.
5. Chillin' with Mahomies $48 to pick up Achane is gonna be worth every penny. With Miami’s high octane offense and his speed, he’s a shoe in for many more big days before the end of the season. Sadly he was on the bench. Miami is known for rewarding big days and both backs (even with Raheem playing poorly) had a chance to repeat. Kenny’s team has gotta be one of the funnest. Huge upside with a whole lot of risk. While the receivers aren't the best, the possibility of a huge Mahomes and Kelce day or another Miami thrashing are exciting. While last week was a dud I see a lot of fantastic matchups this week. I expect a high score going into next week.
4. Left Handed Corn Dogz Leaving Watson in definitely ended up being a mistake though even with Pickett in it doesn't seem like it would have affected the matchup. The bench however might have, who could have seen some of those breakout performances coming. Going forward with JJ and a team with deep depth this is one of the best lineups in the league. Arguably top 3 but on a loss I gave it to Marie.
3. Iowa City Mo Josh Allen is foremost and will forever be the guy. A team wins 70-20 the prior week and he goes out there and routs them 48-20 throwing for 4 TD’s and running another. With Josh Allen leading the team and a solid lineup Marie’s first season in the league is shaping up for something special. Winning that tough matchup early in the season will pay off going forward to a more favorable one this week.
2. Team Suspension When CMC has 45 points it's a good week. When Jalen Hurts and Jacobs pop off too it's a really good week. With CMC healthy this team will be competitive every single week. The guy hasn't had a game under 20 points yet this season, that's nuts. Combine that with 2 other stud RB’s and Hurts you got yourself a playoff run. This team is a top receiver away from being a sure winner. With the second highest PF in the league (it’s about even) this team is among the top in the league.
1. Saqoun Deez Nuts The only undefeated team left and that's certainly for a reason. While last week was pretty low scoring this lineup is loaded. With plenty of depth down the line this team is primed for a deep run this year. Even with key players out on bye, the lineup looks better than most. I don’t see Deebo having another goose egg, though he picked a good matchup to do so during. With the highest PF in the league this is the team to beat.
